The worst meme ever for wheelchairs!

I hate being categorized or having someone have pity on me. THIS meme pissed me off for all those in wheelchairs.

Is it Gratitude or Envy?

I had to share this. A friend of mine sent it to me today and while I agree with the sentiment of gratitude, I think the ultimate message is so misguided and most people in society won't even realize it til I point it out. She knows me well and that is exactly why she sent it to me.

There is such a stigma around, well, everyone nowadays. The stigma around people in wheelchairs has always rolled (haha) off my back because if someone isn't directly affected, it's just said without thinking. Like everything else in life. But when a video like this circulates the internet I have to speak up. Because so many people DO believe this about THEMSELVES. I don't care what anyone thinks of me or of people in wheelchairs. What I do care about is the person who watches the end of this video, or even the whole thing, and RELATES.

This isn't about gratitude. It's about envy. When telling someone ELSE that they should be grateful cuz "at least you can do this and I can't" that's lack mentality and, if you know me at all, you know I HATE the words "I can't".

The people in this video are feeling sorry for themselves and they need to cut that shit out, STOP comparing and push themselves past the limiting beliefs they have. My message to anyone watching this video is turn it off, go do something you're great at and TRY one small thing you think you can't do, or that your ego tells you you can't do. Go into it with the belief that you can. You're going to shock yourself.

Getting off the soap box now. Watch the video and try not to throw up or roll your eyes.
